The
Hang Ups F5000/F7000 Inversion Tables comes with
an excellent instep locking system. Most people
who are going to use the table for therapeutic
purposes and do not intend on spending long periods
of time at extreme angles will be comfortable
with the standard instep lock. If you have sensitive
ankles or you are purchasing the table for athletic
purposes you may want to include the Teeter Hang
Ups Gravity Boots with your table. We have found
approximately 30-40% of purchasers end up with
boots either initially or they order them after
they have had their table for a while. If you
do not have boots you can still hang totally upside-down
and do sit-ups, reverse squats etc. The benefit
of the boots is that they distribute the pressure
to more points and reduce discomfort. The calf
loop helps to distribute the pressure and puts
a small bend in the knee which can also be beneficial.
Please note: We recommend
very mild angles for the first week or two please
see suggestions for getting started. During
this time your feet will should feel only minimal
pressure from the ankle clamps. Also some people
find there insteps and heels seem adapt to the
pressure over time if the angle is not too extreme
and not for long periods. Also some people have
found that thick socks and hiking boots will take
some of the pressure off the instep and heel.
One
Person's Experience With Gravity Boots
I
ordered the Gravity boots with the F7000 with
some uncertainty of whether I would need them,
but I'm very glad I did now. With the standard
ankle locking mechanism on the F7000 set as recommended
on my ankles, after several minutes being inverted
my feet seemed to be lacking in circulation, which
was immediately relieved when standing upright
again, when the ankle mechanism released its pressure.
I think that while inverted, the standard ankle
locking device placed enough pressure on the arteries
in my lower ankle/upper foot to impede circulation.
So then I broke out the Gravity Boots and made
the modification to the F7000 to accommodate the
CV bar over which the boots hook while inverted.
The gravity boots made a big difference. I'm having
no more issues with impeded circulation and they
are just very comfortable while hanging. I only
do a 40 degree inversion so far, but it helps
very much. I'm not sure if I will ever want to
do a total inversion since its not really necessary
to obtain the full benefit out of the inversion
table.

F5000/F7000 Instep Lock
What
is the CV Bar
The
CV Bar is a T shaped conversion bar that allows the
F5000 or F7000 inversion table to be able to be used
with Hang Ups Spyder Gravity Boots. See photos below.
If
you choose to purchase the F5000/F7000 or the complete
table & boot combination your table will include
the standard instep locking system. If you purchase
the total system (table & boots) you will have the
option to use your table with or without Teeter Gravity
Boots. Some people use the standard instep lock at home
and use their boots in the gym (some gyms have bars
for hanging). Once you make the conversion to use the
CV Bar & Teeter Gravity Boots the table can be converted
back but it is not something you would want to do often.
If
you not sure about ordering the Teeter Gravity Boots and
CV Bar with your table you can always try the standard
instep lock that comes with the table and if you want
to upgrade you can order the Boots
& CV Bar later. If you purchase at the same time
you order yur table the cost is $100.00. If you order
separately the cost is $114.50.
If
you are still not sure whether to purchase the
F5000/F7000 with Teeter Gravity Boots and CV Bar
please read further down on this page.
Boots
work best for those with average size ankles. If your
ankles are especially thin or broad the boots may
not be as comfortable for you.
For extra large ankles there is a special boot made.
If you have thin ankles it may be possible to use
Teeter Gravity Boots over a high top hiking boot.
Please contact us if you are interested in the extra
large size boots.
What
if your still not sure about getting gravity boots?
About 60-70% of people are happy with the standard
instep locking system that comes with the F5000/F7000.
About 30-40% of people do purchase Teeter Gravity
Boots along with the CV (conversion bar) and prefer
this system. They find it more comfortable. Many of
the people who do purchase boots like to hang at extreme
angles which may not be necessary to get excellent
results. Also people who want to do upside down exercises
on a regular basis generally find using Teeter Gravity
Boots does make the process more comfortable. Everyone
is different and it is difficult to know for sure
which system you would prefer until you start using
the table.
